Founded in 1977 by Floyd Rollefstad, Laser Fantasy quickly grew to become a leader the planetarium laser light show market.

The company expanded into many facets of the laser display industry including Theme Parks, Corporate Events, School Tours, and Event Productions. Over the years trends in the laser industry have come and gone, but Laser Fantasy has always provided top notch laser hardware and outstanding shows.

Following the retirement of Floyd, a pair of long term employees are now carrying the Laser Fantasy brand into the future. The award winning art department continues to be helmed by Jay Heck and his company HECK Industries, and the hardware development is lead by Alex Hay and his company Photon Manufacturing.

Jay Heck started working in the Art Department of Laser Fantasy International in 1992. He rapidly learned about laser show production and quickly rose to become the creative leader at Laser Fantasy.

As Creative Director, he’s supervised one of the largest and most respected Art Departments in the laser entertainment industry. Under Jay’s leadership Laser Fantasy achieved over 70 international awards for excellence. The Laser Fantasy Art Department provides artwork for custom installations, theater productions, planetarium theaters and other laser companies.

The Laser Fantasy laser show library is the largest and most diverse in the industry, with over 120 shows, hundreds of individual song titles, and thousands of animation sequences.

Alex Hay began working for Laser Fantasy in 1996 as a technician then went on to project manager, optical and electronic designer, system architect, and Director of Engineering.

Alex and his Engineering team have designed and built laser display hardware used on every populated continent. His history includes design of the first laser display controlled over WiFi, the first Ethernet-controlled laser, the first laser output device with a web interface, and the first laser projector with scientifically calculated color balance. Alex has experience with the design and manufacturing of electronic controls and optical systems for medical devices, consumer products, and laser projectors. He has designed and maintained display systems of all sizes, including some of the most powerful full-color laser systems in the world.

Today Laser Fantasy combines the latest technical hardware advances with an expansive laser show library, to bring fantastic laser light show experiences to audiences around the world.

Kodi Tyo joined Laser Fantasy in 2013, as an Assistant Electronics Technician. Upon demonstrating his exceptional skills and dedication, he swiftly became indispensible within the organization. In an impressive feat, Kodi assumed the role of Assembly Lead for all laser systems in under a year.

Just a year after that, his pursuit of broader responsibilities led Kodi to play a pivotal role in installing the world’s most powerful permanent laser display in Macau, China. Kodi then spearheaded the reorganization of our production process, elevating the efficiency and quality of our laser projector manufacturing. As his trajectory continued upward, Kodi’s impact extended to Planetarium Systems installations: he developed and implemented refined installation procedures, enhancing the overall client experience.

Today, Kodi holds the title of Director of Manufacturing and Installations, where he leads with expertise in manufacturing, installation, training, and support. His remarkable journey is a testament to his outstanding contributions and commitment to excellence within Laser Fantasy.
